Miss SA Mia le Roux Receives the Keys to Her New Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupé

“My oupa was a proper Mercedes man and I think he’s smiling down from heaven right now,” said an excited Miss South Africa Mia le Roux when she received the keys to her brand new Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupé that she will be driving during the year of her reign.

“I am so excited and I am going to have all the fun in the world with this magnificent car. I am so thankful that it is such a safe vehicle with so many in-built safety features, and I know I will have so much fun driving it this year,” said the 28-year-old Capetonian.

The Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupé is only one of the incredible prizes she got.

She earned R1 million in cash as part of a reward and sponsorship package that included the use of a serviced apartment at the opulent Brookfield at Royal in Kensington, created by Tricolt, for the year of her reign, complete with homeware and accessories from Woolworths Home and stunning furniture from Schönn.

Hearing-impaired Le Roux, the first differently-abled finalist in Miss South Africa history, had worked full-time as a marketing manager for a start-up company before entering the competition. She is also pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing part-time at Unisa.

In her acceptance speech she said: “With a humble and grateful heart, I accept the incredible responsibility of being your Miss South Africa 2024. It is an honour that fills me with immense pride and gratitude, and I am deeply touched by the trust and confidence that South Africa has placed in me.

“As a little girl, I never would have thought that someone like me could become Miss South Africa. It is extremely powerful what this could mean to other little girls – that even if you have something that makes you different, you still can achieve your dreams with determination and hard work.”
