Miss South Africa 2024Mia le Roux has left the nation for Mexico to compete in the 73rd Miss Universe contest.
Le Roux, who traveled on Sunday, October 27, will compete other beauty queens from across the world for the prestigious title, which Zozibini Tunzi won in 2019.
For her departure, Le Roux looked stunning in a crimson gown designed by local Juan William Aria. The embroidered South African flag on the bodice of her outfit stood out.
Adding the bowler hat and gloves boosted her appearance, giving her a rich aunt vibe.
“I cannot wait to highlight the beautiful diversity of our country and show that it is our biggest strength,” said Le Roux, who wants to take it all in at the Miss Universe without being pressured to walk in the footsteps of previous Miss South Africa title holders on the Miss Universe stage.
“I try to view this as the opportunity and experience of a lifetime where my voice can be heard and I can hopefully help to shine a light upon the blind spots of our world while carrying my beautiful country within my heart.
“I believe my advantage is that I have a powerful story that needs to be heard,” she said.
Miss Universe takes place in Mexico City on November 16.
