On a recent episode of Crown Chasers, a reality TV show documenting the road to the Miss South Africa 2024 pageant, Nolene Spinks’ journey to become Miss South Africa 2024 came to an end as she was the most recent competitor eliminated.
On episode four of Crown Chasers, we explored the world of fashion and flair with the clothing firm Forever New.
For the first challenge, contestants had to work in groups of two to develop three looks and dress mannequins. The challenge’s theme was to empower the crown chasers to become businesswomen through fashion.
Soweto’s Nompumelelo Maduna and Emalahleni’s Kebalepile Ramafoko won the first challenge, both receiving a Forever New handbag.
For the second challenge, the candidates worked in groups of two to create a twelve-look collection of distinct designs with the help of Forever New graphic designers.
They presented their looks to Jessica Wild, a product manager at Forever New SA.
The second challenge winners were Oudtshoorn’s Mia Le Roux and Kirsten Khan, who each received a Forever New handbag.
Londeka Buthelezi-Ndaba, the founder of Malondie, a multi-award-winning South African fashion business, served as the guest judge for episode 4.
Nolene Spinks of Gqebereha advanced to the Top 14 but was ousted from the pageant lately. The singer shared with us what she learned during the competition, how her trip went, and some of the things she learned:
“My experience on Miss SA was not what I expected. Being unfamiliar with the pageant scene, I had some preconceived notions about pageants and the modeling industry. And honestly, this was not the same; it was better. “I feel the healthiest I’ve ever been, mentally, physically, and otherwise,” she stated.
She also stated that her sessions with Yvonne Johnston, a life coach who specializes in self-mastery coaching, assisted her in overcoming her fear of rejection. Those sessions were beneficial to her since they allowed her to better understand the subject and learn more about it.
She added that she will miss the challenges, adrenaline, fast-paced learning, and the other contestants.
Crown Chasers episodes air every Saturday at 8.30pm on SABC3, with repeats on Sunday at 1pm.
