A Western Cape teacher facing numerous counts of r*pe is set to petition for bail.
The National Prosecuting Authority said that the case will be heard in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
According to Western Cape NPA spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila, the 26-year-old high school teacher is charged with four charges of r*pe and exposing a child to a sexual act.
Sergeant Wesley Twigg, a police spokesperson, said the man was arrested on August 26 on r*pe allegations.
He made his first court appearance on August 28.
In a similar case, a Durban soccer coach and bible study teacher was arrested and charged with four charges of r*pe.
A part-time Durban soccer coach and Bible study teacher has been detained in connection with the r*pe of four young boys.
On August 13, 2024, Verulam SAPS apprehended a 57-year-old guy.
Colonel Robert Netshiunda, a KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, said the man was arrested in connection with claims that he r*ped four youngsters in Waterloo.
“Reports indicate that the suspect was assaulted by the community before the police were called.”
According to Netshiunda, the suspect was transferred to the hospital and remains there under police guard.
Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), a private security organization, stated it was called to the area after the community detained the man, attacked him, and threatened him with castration.
