Thembi Nyandeni, a veteran actress, received the Lifetime Shero Achievement Award at the 8th Gagasi Shero Awards.
Nyandeni, recognized for her role as Mkabayi Zungu in “Isibaya,” is currently starring in SABC 1’s “Uzalo.”
The Gagasi FM SHERO Awards, held over the weekend, recognize remarkable women who push boundaries and achieve in their many fields. This year’s awards acknowledged the women who make KwaZulu-Natal tick.
Nyandeni praised the Gagasi FM Shero Awards for honoring her, as she was at a loss for words during her impromptu remark at the ceremony.
In a post on Instagram, Gagasi FM celebrated the talented actress for her contribution to the industry.

Last year, Nyandeni at the 10th Simon “Mabhunu” Sabela Film and Television Awards won Best Supporting Act for her role as Njinji on SABC 1’s soapie “Uzalo”.
Her career began at the age of 25 and has spanned decades, with honors including the SAFTA (South African Film and Television Award) Golden Horn for best actress in a TV soap for her performance in “Isibaya” and a Royalty Soapie Award for the same role.
