Grammy Award-winning singer Tyla has entered the history books.
Her debut studio album, “Tyla”, has become the most streamed female African album in history, surpassing 1.3 billion streams on music streaming platform Spotify.
“Tyla” dropped worldwide on May 22 and features the Grammy Award-winning song, “Water” and other chart-topping tracks like “ART”, “Jump”, “Truth or Dare” and “Breath Me”, which Tyla just released a music video for.
The announcement was made on X.
“@Tyllaaaaaaa’s ‘TYLA’ has surpassed 1.3 billion streams on Spotify, the most streamed female African album in history,” wrote @chartstyla.
It added that the accomplishment felt “unreal”.

Meanwhile, international rapper Drake has returned to the top of the Spotify list as the rapper with the most monthly listeners.
Drake raked up 76.7 million listeners, dethroning rapper Eminem who had 76.5 million. The “Houdini” album maker is now at No. 2.
