About the role

We are looking for a Lecturer in Applied Mathematics to join us at the University of Leicester. You will be expected to deliver high quality research in Applied Mathematics, whilst attracting sufficient funding to be self-sustaining and you will be expected to actively seek such funding.

You will also be expected to undertake teaching across a range of mathematics courses as well as performing administrative duties. A particular expectation is that you will contribute to the delivery of teaching in China under the auspices of the Dalian Leicester Institute and at the University of Leicester’s campus in the UK.

You will travel to China for between 20-25 weeks each academic year when the situation permits. The Leicester International Institute, Dalian University of Technology is a Sino-foreign cooperative educational institution (CEI), jointly established on 29th March 2017 by Dalian University of Technology (DUT) in China and the University of Leicester (UoL) in the United Kingdom with the approval of the China Ministry of Education. The University will pay a £400 allowance in respect of each visit to China.

About you

With a PhD and post-doctoral research track record in a relevant area, you will have evidence of undergraduate teaching experience including lecturing, supervision of projects and using e-learning technologies, alongside the ability to teach and to supervise projects within the general area of Mathematics. In addition, you will have a track record of high quality journal papers
