We are looking for an organised, proactive individual with excellent administrative skills to join our team of Quality Assurance and Enhancement Officers. If you have knowledge and experience of quality assurance frameworks within further or higher education or an equivalent organisation and are a good communicator with attention to detail and analytical skills, this could be the ideal role for you. This particular role would play a key role in supporting the quality assurance and enhancement of the apprenticeship provision offered at UEL and so applications from those with applicable experience are encouraged, particularly from those with knowledge or experience of working to Ofsted, ESFA and/or IfATE guidelines.

Each Quality Assurance and Enhancement Officer in our team is allocated their own portfolio of responsibilities from the shared job description, and there are opportunities to gain experience in a range of activities to develop your career in higher education quality assurance.

Our team is responsible for the development and implementation of the university’s quality assurance processes and provides specialist support to academic and professional staff, our student body, and collaborative partners. Our work includes managing the approval and regular review of courses at UEL and our partner institutions; the quality assurance and regulatory compliance of apprenticeships; student engagement and surveys; the external examining framework and servicing of committees, validation, and review events.

Working within our team of Quality Assurance and Enhancement Officers, you will act as a quality representative, providing specialist advice and guidance to UEL’s academic schools and our partners on the university’s quality assurance processes and regulations. You will take a lead in the planning and organisation of quality assurance and enhancement activities and be responsible for managing projects. Your responsibilities will include representing the team and providing high-level administrative support for university-wide committees and working groups, organising complex events, and supporting the validation and review of in-house and collaborative courses both in the UK and occasionally overseas.

The successful candidate will be expected to form strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the university and be an authoritative point of contact on quality assurance to ensure policies and processes are implemented effectively.

This role is based at our Docklands Campus with hybrid working available.

Born in 1898 to serve the skills needs of the 2nd industrial revolution, the University of East London is underway with its transformational 10-year Vision 2028 strategic plan led by our Vice-Chancellor & President, Professor Amanda Broderick, to advance Industry 4.0 careers-1st education. We have a clear route map to provide a springboard for the jobs and opportunities of the future; drive diversity in the 4.0 talent pipeline – working in partnership to promote talent wherever it is found; and create an inclusive and sustainable, green future.

A successful external candidate for this position would be employed by UEL Professional Services Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of UEL. Employees of UEL Professional Services Ltd work alongside UEL colleagues in the delivery of UEL’s mission, and UEL Professional Services Ltd will adopt UEL HR policies and procedures in full. Further detail regarding employment benefits can be found in the employee benefits section of our recruitment pages.
