South African netizens support Bonang Matheba, a well-known multi-media personality, to host the 2024 Miss Universe competition.
Matheba has successfully staged countless world-class events and beauty pageants during her two-decade career.
This includes the 2018, 2023, and 2024 Miss SA pageants, the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards pre-show, and the 2018 Global Citizen: Mandela 100 concert, among other events.
Fans are now pressing for her to host the coveted Miss Universe beauty competition.
Taking to social media platform X, Luna M, also known as @tiredfeminist_, posted: “I need Bonang to host Miss Universe soon! Yes her outfits eat, but she has perfected this gig so much, I can’t think of a better person.”

Another user, @SelfieRunnerZA, then tagged Anne Jakrajutatip, CEO of JKN Global Group, who owns the Miss Universe Organisation, and asked her to consider Matheba for the coveted hosting job.
Dear @MissUniverse, please let @Bonang host Miss Universe just once. If you give her just this one opportunity, you’ll want her back hosting every other year. I’m sure @Official_MissSA will only be too happy to send you tapes where she hosted #MissSA over the years, if needs be. https://t.co/axKZHYku6q

Miss South Africa 2024 Host Bonang Matheba. She's been hosting the show for three years and Africas best LIVE television host and most awarded on-air personality. Consider her for Miss Universe this year 🙏 pic.twitter.com/pPRB6Muvl8

We’ve seen the power of South Africans on social media over and over again, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Matheba does go on to host the Miss Universe pageant.
