Comic Con Africa is returning for its sixth live event in September, and organizers promise to make it bigger than ever.
Comic Con Africa has established itself as a must-attend event for both pop culture and gaming fans.
During the festival’s weekend, fans may meet international celebrities as well as local and international comic book artists, see the newest in gaming and games, and dress up and enjoy food and music in the food truck village.
The event will feature Joe Manganiello, known for his roles in “True Blood,” “Magic Mike,” and “Justice League.”
This year’s Comic Con Africa will feature iconic actor and bodybuilder Lou Ferrigno, who played the original Hulk in the 1977 adaption of “The Incredible Hulk”.
In addition to being an all-encompassing pop culture and gaming event, the festival is also the ideal family day out during the forthcoming school holidays, with a dedicated location for the fan favourite “KidsCon”.
Fans can expect a large retail experience from Toys R Us at KidsCon, with involvement from companies such as LEGO, Nintendo, Barbie, Transformers, and Hot Wheels.
Character and mascot appearances at KidsCon will include Mario, Luigi, the LEGO guy, Noodle & Bun, and Geoffery the Giraffe from Toys R Us.
Comic Con Africa will feature a jam-packed schedule over many stages, catering to all aspects of pop culture.
Fans may have fun with quizzes and learn from the finest in the field through Q&A sessions, creative workshops, and talks on topics ranging from writing and drawing comics to constructing cosplay costumes.
Since its inception in 2018, Comic Con Africa has rapidly expanded into a large event, attracting tens of thousands of attendees each year and embracing both hardcore and casual fans to a judgement-free, self-expressive environment.
Comic Con Africa will take place from September 26 to 29 at the Johannesburg Expo Centre (Nasrec).
Comic Con Africa tickets are still available on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday of the festival, however Saturday tickets have sold out.
