Comic Con Africa 2024 will be larger and better than ever before, cementing its title as one of the world’s largest pop culture events.
The fifth edition of the event will include appearances by foreign and local celebrities, as well as renowned comic book creators and cosplayers.
This includes the likes of “Justice League” Joe Manganiello and legendary actor and bodybuilder Lou Ferrigno, who portrayed the original Hulk in the 1977 adaption of “The Incredible Hulk”.
It will also include a KidsCon area where children can meet popular characters like as Mario, Luigi, the LEGO Man, and Noodle and Bun.
Another new feature is the Korean Night Market, which is inspired by the popular Netflix programs “Squid Game” and The Entellect, in which coding students compete to build the best bot.
Meanwhile, fan favourite Artist Alley will return to the game stage, and fans will be able to interact with their favourite stars through Q&A sessions, autograph signings, and unique meet-and-greet photo opportunities.
The convention floor will also have a diverse selection of souvenirs, collectibles, and memorabilia, including rare comic books, graphic novels, gaming accessories, and clothes.
There will also be excellent food and beverages to savor over the three-day event, and visitors are encouraged to dress as their favorite superheroes.
Comic Con Africa, which alternates exhibitions between Johannesburg and Cape Town, has come a long way since its inaugural event in 2018.
“With Comic Con Africa being an evolving show, this year’s iteration will continue to expand the experience with more activities for all, free to play gaming competitions and more open spaces for fans to connect,” according to a release.
