Cassper Nyovest Celebrates 10 Years of Debut Album ‘Tsholofelo’

Cassper Nyovest became a household celebrity after releasing his debut album “Tsholofelo” in 2015.

Hits from the album “Tsholofelo” were “Phumakim”, “Doc Shebeleza”, and “Tsibip”. It achieved radio success, with high rotation and outstanding chart placements.

Cassper Nyovest marked the 10th anniversary of his record with a poignant Instagram post. The rapper began by thanking God for his skill, protection, and grace, even when he was in the desert.

“We dropped this album independently with no experience, wisdom or money. Little did we know that we were making history and that we would change the ground of South African music and Africa as a whole forever.

“The album went on to win many awards and is the best selling Hip Hop Album of all time. It started debates and is a case study in many rooms. It’s because of this album that today kids know they can do it all in their bedroom and nobody is running to labels to be signed and enslaved.”

Cassper Nyovest reminisced on how the record helped him become the first African musician to sell out The Dome, Africa’s most famous arena. “Fill up the Dome Concert” was a success, establishing the rapper as one of Africa’s best, daring in pursuing his dreams.

“Everything flows from this album, including my business endeavours like @billiato1 and @rootoffame. I would like to thank all the producers, artists and writers who worked on the album.”

In his post, the rapper revealed that he would be celebrating the milestone with plans in the pipeline.
