As we expand the department of Chemistry and Forensics, we seek a highly motivated individual with the skills and experience to join our established research, scholar or practice, and teaching team within Forensic Sciences. We are specifically looking for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Forensic Science, to support research and teaching to Forensic Science students up to postgraduate level. You will have an enthusiastic approach to education and will support the existing delivery and help develop further the forensic science teaching across the provision.
We are looking for you to deliver in at least 2 of the following subject areas:
- crime scene investigation and crime scene management
- digital forensic investigation
- fieldwork and recording techniques in forensic science
- environmental forensics, archaeology and / or osteology.
The Department invites applications for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Forensic Science to teach and support a range of accredited forensic courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You will have a proactive and enthusiastic approach to education with an ability to support existing delivery whilst developing evidence based and engaging teaching practice across our suite of courses. You will have experience through academia or practice of forensic Investigations including crime scene collection of evidence, research or experience of environmental evidence types as well as an understanding of forensic evidence in the crime scene to court process. You will contribute to the development, assessment, and management of academic courses within the forensic science subject area at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and be expected to contribute more broadly to teaching within the department.
The success of our courses is linked to our continual development of learning experiences through laboratory/workshop/seminar/research project delivery to support student progression and attainment. In addition, our undergraduate and postgraduate suite of courses are accredited by the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences (CSoFS)
