We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Higher Scientist to join our Standards Lifecycle function within the Scientific Research and Innovation group. The Scientific Research and Innovation Group delivers public health impact, world-leading research innovation, and a unique proposition via an ambitious Science Strategy which will balance innovation against sustainability and affordability. It is divided into 6 sub-Groups, Innovation Accelerator, Clinical Investigations and Trials, Research and Development, Standards Lifecycle, Control Testing and Quality Assurance and Health & Safety.
What’s the role?
The postholder will work as part of a small team to develop, characterise, and ensure fitness for purpose of both new and replacement diagnostic serological reference materials. The reference materials will complement a range of different uses that will ensure appropriate independent assay performance. The clinical fields in which these materials will support includes, but is not limited to, Blood Safety, Respiratory and Gastrointestinal tract infections, Sexual Health and Transplantation.
Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will have experience of regulatory requirements and governance routes for implementation. You will have a scientific degree with relevant experience in the field of reference material development or equivalent experience.
You will be able work within your team and across other groups. You will also have the ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing situations as well proactive seek and analyse information to inform decisions based on the best available evidence.
