University of Reading Felix Scholarship Scheme in the UK

The Felix Scholarship scheme offers several scholarships to deserving students from eligible countries to study for a participating degree program at the university of Reading in the united kingdom. The Scholarship scheme is dedicated to high achieving students from India and selected developing countries who wish to pursue a postgraduate (Master’s or PhD) studies at the University of Reading.

This scholarship offers up to six (6) scholarships to Indian citizens who wish to apply for either Master’s or PhD programme at the University of Reading and one (1) award, for study at master’s level only, to a student from a developing country. Eligible students from developing countries are those who are citizens of an African country and therefore, other developing countries do not apply.

An applicant who have been awarded the scholarship, and therefore accepted the scholarship, will commit to return to their country of origin on completion of their programme of study so as to make a contribution to that country. The scholarship is offered for the Academic year starting 2023/2024

Benefits

Recipients of the scholarships will receive the following benefits

  • The scholarships cover tuition fees at the international rate for your selected degree programme
  • You will receive a monthly stipend or maintenance grant worth around £15,038 to cover living expenses while in the UK.
  • As a recipient, you will also receive a generous allowances for clothes, books and a return flight home.
  • Please be aware that you will be asked to demonstrate financial need and spouses’ costs will not be met.
  • These scholarship awards are available for up to three years depending on eligibility.

Eligibility

Scholarship applicants from India must meet the following conditions

  • You must be an Indian citizen currently living or studying of India.
  • Candidates who already hold a master’s degree cannot apply for a master’s degree scholarship
  • As a candidate, you must have not previously studied for one year or more outside India.
  • Applicants are required to hold at least a first-class bachelor’s degree from an Indian university or comparable institution.
  • If you hold an upper second-class degree at a bachelor’s level, the selection board may considered if you hold a first-class degree at master’s level.
  • You must not hold a degree from a university outside of India.
  • You must be applying to pursuing either a PhD or master’s degree programme.

Scholarship applicants from developing countries must meet the following conditions

  • You must be a national of a developing country in Africa, in order to apply
  • Applicants must hold at least a first-class bachelor’s degree from a university or comparable institution.
  • If you hold an upper second-class degree at a bachelor’s level, the selection board may considered if you hold a first-class degree at master’s level.
  • Your degree must not have been awarded from a university outside of your home country.

Application

In case you are interested in the Felix Scholarships offered, you must first apply for admission and be intending to start your selected full-time postgraduate degree at the University of Reading in September 2023. After submitting your application, you must then download the scholarship application form form the website, fully and correctly fill it and submit it via email to the address provided on the website.

Things to note: You must be able to demonstrate academic excellence and financial need. Applicants are also expected by the Trust to return to work in your home country at the end of their degree programme.
