Uncle Waffles couldn’t contain her joy after making history with her show in New York.
Uncle Waffles’ international tour, which included stops in Europe and North America, has elevated Amapiano to new heights.
Her North American tour culminated in a historic performance at New York’s Brooklyn Mirage.
The evening, co-headlined by Oscar Mbo and 2wobunnies, marked not only the first Amapiano performance at the famed theater, but also Waffles’ debut as a black female headliner.
Black Coffee, the first South African to headline Madison Square Garden, previously chose the Brooklyn Mirage for her afterparty.
Waffles expressed her excitement on Instagram, thanking the organizers, staff, and fans for their support. She also promised more to come.
“Thank you, New York, for helping me create history despite the weather. I can’t express how grateful I am.”
Netizens sang Waffles’ praises and congratulated her on making history:
