The ‘Legends and Legacy Ball Africa Awards’, which aspires to represent the spirit of African unity and the enduring legacy of democratic values, will be held on Saturday, July 13, at the Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg, to commemorate the country’s 30th year of democracy.
In a statement to the media, the Legends and Legacy Ball Africa Awards organizers stated that they recognize the importance of supporting the next generation of musical talents and are devoted to mentoring and developing young people in the business beyond the one-night event.
“Our goal is to empower the next generation of African musicians by providing them with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed in the industry,” Country Director of Imajin & Fusion South Africa Lebogang Letsoalo, said.
There will also be business matching possibilities to help musicians and companies grow their businesses.
The event will feature performers like as Mafikizolo, DJ Zinhle, King Promise, Camidoh, and Princess MacDonald. These musicians will put on thrilling performances, paying homage to Africa’s rich musical tradition with interpretations of Yvonne Chaka Chaka’s legendary music.
Legendary performers such as Koffi Olomide and Héritier Watanabe are also scheduled to perform at the event, giving a distinct dimension to it while also demonstrating the range and complexity of African music.
