Letoya Makhene is set to mark her comeback to the music industry after penning a record deal with Ntethe Global Effect.
When things seemed to be falling apart for Letoya Makhene, they appeared to have fallen into place.
After the former Generations actress’ marital woes became front-page news, she seems to have used her pain to reignite her passion for music, and she never looked back.
Taking to her Instagram page, the singer shared a press release announcing her record label signing to Ntethe Global Effect as she officially marks her return to the music scene.
Not only that, but the actress also shared a snippet of an unknown song as she prepares for the release of her upcoming album.
Letoya told HowSouth that fans had plenty to look forward to, saying she was excited about the creative direction she has taken:
“I have been hard at work in the studio creating new music with a new sound, a new team and approach. In the past, my music was very traditional, but fans can expect a more Afro-soul genre that’s softer and sexier, leaning more into a side of me that people will get to experience for the first time.
“I am really excited about my upcoming single, “Äbantu”, written by Ntethe and co-produced by Ntethe and The Lord Jazz under Ntethe Global Effect. The song speaks about the hardships of being human and takes me to a place I resonate with. It’s a beautiful song with gentle undertones of Maskandi music, with an unmistakable 80’s sound.
“I know that there’s going to be a huge demand for the album once this song hits the airwaves, and I am really excited about what this new chapter of my life has in store for me.”
