The head of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), Julius Malema, has expressed his condolences following the untimely death of Lekometse Monama from the eMalahleni.
Malema described the tragic circumstances of his death. Monama was putting up an election poster when he was tragically killed by an open cable carrying a live current.
In a statement, Malema conveyed his deep sorrow, stating,
I am deeply sorry to hear about the tragic passing of Fighter Lekometse Monama from the eMalahleni sub-region who will buried tomorrow at Ga Rakgwedi, Nebo village in Limpopo. It is with great sorrow that I learned that he was postering and lost his life while trying to balance on a pole that had an open cable with live current.
We have lost a brave and dedicated member of our movement, and my heart goes out to his loved ones. Please accept my sincere condolences, and I would like to express my gratitude to him for his service and his sacrifice. Your family will always be my family and will always be there for them.
Malema recognized Monama’s dedication to the EFF and praised him as a key member of the movement. He also expressed his profound sympathies to Monama’s family.
Monama will be laid to rest on Saturday in Ga Rakgwedi, Nebo village, Limpopo.
