Jessica Gunning received her first Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for her performance as Martha in Netflix’s “Baby Reindeer” at the 76th Emmy Awards.
On Sunday, September 15, the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles hosted the event, which celebrated the greatest of television.
Gunning was nominated against Dakota Fanning (Ripley), Lily Gladstone (Under the Bridge), Nava Mau (Baby Reindeer), Aja Naomi King (Lessons in Chemistry), Diane Lane (Feud: Capote vs. The Swans), and Kali Reis (True Detective: Night Country).
Gunning gave a heartfelt and emotional acceptance speech, expressing her excitement at the honour.
“Oh my goodness me, blinking heckers, thank you so much. I honestly feel like I am going to wake up any minute now and this whole thing has been a dream,” Gunning said.
“Thank you very, very much indeed. I am so incredibly proud to be part of Baby Reindeer.”
She also expressed gratitude to Richard Gadd, the series creator, writer, and lead actor.
“My biggest thanks has to go to Mr Richard Gadd, thank you for trusting me to be your Martha. I will never, ever forget her or you or this, it really means a lot”.
