Fikile Mbalula, secretary-general of the African National Congress, criticized the Western Cape administration in an attempt to persuade voters to support the party. Everyone laughed at him.
According to TimesLIVE, Mbalula stated that not voting for the ANC in the 2019 elections would result in missed rewards. These include gaining a job without prior experience. He criticized ANC members for their behavior on election day, whereas Democratic Alliance members voted for their party.
“The Western Cape is ruled by witches that bewitch us. We must not give up. They do not need rallies because they know that they come out in numbers while we go out and drink,” he said.
Mbalula stated that the ANC promised 2.5 million jobs if it remained in power. This is despite nearly 32% of the population being unemployed.
Facebook users mocked Mbalula’s words.
