Three people have been arrested in KwaZulu-Natal in connection with the alleged murder of 18 people in Lusikisiki.
The three males were apprehended in Port Shepstone, on the KZN South Coast, following an intelligence-led operation.
The trio were apprehended early Wednesday morning by SAPS Port Shepstone K9 and Public Order Policing officers.
Speaking about the arrests, KZN police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda said officers received a tip-off from a community member that the sought criminals were sheltering in a rented house at the Mkholombe informal settlement in Port Shepstone.
“A swift operation was put in motion and the three suspects, aged 22, 24 and 31 years old were arrested.”
He stated that the investigation is ongoing, with police looking for a firearm that the suspects reportedly used in the commission of the murder.
