Zoe Saldaña to Receive American Riviera Award at the 40th Santa Barbara International Film Festival

Zoe Saldaña, a prominent Hollywood actress, will receive recognition at the 40th Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

Saldaña will receive the renowned American Riviera Award, according to the festival announcement.

Saldaña will receive the prize on February 7, 2025, at an in-person conversation about her work, including her lauded role as Rita Moro Castro in Netflix’s “Emilia Pérez”.

The organizers of the festival stated: “Saldaña’s performance in ‘Emilia Pérez’ is one of her most transformative roles to date, and adds another unique facet to her already impressive career.”

 

 

The award was created to reward actors who have made important contributions to American cinema.

Past honorees include Quentin Tarantino, Sandra Bullock, Renee Zellweger, Brendan Fraser, and Ethan Hawke, among other well-known actors.

Saldaña is the first actress in history to have starred in four films that grossed over $2 billion.
