Veteran Actor Carlo Radebe Says He Was Never Homeless, Appeals For Work

In a recent podcast episode, actor Carlo Radebe took center stage to address the ongoing story about him trading red carpets for cardboard boxes.

The unsubstantiated rumour, which surfaced on social media in April 2024, went so far as to include posts soliciting money as well as acting engagements for him, replete with a bank account number allegedly put up to “help” the actor get back on track.

The actor, famed for his performances and dramatic on-screen presence on Generations and Backstage, became embroiled in a real-life incident involving misinformation.

‘’No, I have not been homeless,’’ Radebe told Podcast and Chill in an interview this week.

Radebe, who has always dazzled audiences with his flare for the dramatic, turned the tables on the implication, revealing that, while he had been experiencing some job difficulties, the notion that he was living on the streets was false.

He says that the media discredited him and any potential assistance he might receive from others by portraying him as missing and unprepared.

He expressed gratitude to the people who contacted him as a result of the article and donated money to him, which helped him for three months.

‘’Thank you very much Twitter for putting out the word for me and getting me some amazing donations,’’ he said.

Sharing some of his regrets, he tells Podcast and Chill host, MacG that he is not one to be wasteful when it comes to money as he has never splurged it on luxurious items, but he does regrets not investing money while he was still working as an actor.

Furthermore, Radebe states that, even if he only receives one callback, all he wants is to carry on performing and not worry about getting a main role.
