About University of Zurich Scholarship
The University of Zurich, often known as UZH, was established in 1833 with only 161 students and 55 faculty members. It was Europe’s first university formed by a democratic government rather than a monarchy or the Church. The University of Zurich (UZH) is Switzerland’s largest university, with the broadest choice of topics of any Swiss higher education institution.
The UZH Scholarship is full scholarships awarded every year to outstanding university graduates to enable them to take up their doctoral studies at the Zurich Graduate School of Economics, run by the Department of Economics at the University of Zurich.
By funding newly endowed chairs at the Department of Economics, the UZH will create additional doctoral positions for talented junior researchers beyond the scholarship scheme. Scholarships for successful candidates are full scholarships, covering living expenses and all fees. Only eligible persons will be considered for this program.
This will ensure that the Zurich Graduate School of Economics achieves a critical mass of top young talent to create a leading international graduate school with an attractive research environment.
