U.S.: Frito-Lay Launches $100K Scholarship Program For Students

Frito Lay has launched a scholarship program to assist students who are committed to improving and leading their communities. Each of the four selected students will receive a $25,000 Frito-Lay Community Builders Scholarship. Their purpose is to help people pursue their higher education dreams. Applications will be available on October 3, and students should apply by November 20.

Recognizing students from various backgrounds.

This grant provides an opportunity to reward students from diverse backgrounds who make significant contributions to their communities. While also offering cash assistance for their college fees.

Students must reply to a prompt that explains their community involvement and its impact on their academic journey in addition to satisfying the application prerequisites. It is encouraged for students to demonstrate their leadership abilities, extracurricular activity, work experience, and personal and professional goals.

“At Frito-Lay, we are committed to celebrating and supporting the next generation of community leaders by providing them with resources to help build a brighter future,” said Joan Cetera, vice president of corporate affairs at PepsiCo.

“As these young leaders take the reins, we see a path towards a future where communities are more resilient, where diversity and inclusion are celebrated, and where every individual has the opportunity to reach their fullest potential.”

Eligibility requirements for the scholarship program.

Students must meet certain criteria to be eligible for this scholarship. They must be US citizens and either high school seniors, graduates, or current college freshmen. They must also plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate programs at approved colleges, universities, or vocational-technical schools for the entire forthcoming academic year and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

To evaluate submitted submissions, a diverse panel of Frito-Lay employees, including frontline workers, heads of employee resource organizations, and executives, will serve as the judging committee. By January 30, 2024, all candidates will be notified of their award status.
