Selena Gomez Partners with Sephora for World Mental Health Day fundraiser

Selena Gomez has once again worked with Sephora to donate Rare Beauty sales to support World Mental Health Day.

Rare Impact, Gomez’s beauty business, will support the Rare Impact Fund with Sephora for the second year in a row on October 10th.

According to Bang Showbiz, Gomez, who founded Rare Beauty and the Rare Impact Fund, emphasized the importance of this initiative, saying, “The mental health crisis continues to affect young people disproportionately, and partners like Sephora are vital not only for supporting this mission but also for contributing crucial funds to expand mental health resources for the young people who need them.”

The Rare Impact Fund, founded by the 32-year-old singer and actress, aims to raise $100 million (R1.7 billion) to enhance mental health and education for young people worldwide.

Rare Beauty provides one percent of all sales directly to the fund, which is additionally supported by individuals, business partners, the brand’s community, and other philanthropic endeavors.

According to reports, Rare Beauty’s net sales in 2023 were over $350 million (R6.11 billion). Scott Friedman, the company’s CEO, hopes to outperform last year’s results with this year’s Mental Health Day effort.

He shared the following prediction: “As more people become aware of our mission, the brand, and our collaboration with Sephora, I expect that sales will increase this year compared to last.”

Guillaume Motte, Sephora’s CEO, praised Gomez’s commitment to her cause, saying, “We recognized a chance to do something more than just sell items, to give back to the community. Our collaboration with the Rare Impact Fund began last year, and we’re excited to continue with even more ambition this year.”
