HollywoodBets Durban July Although is passed, the talk around fashion and who wore what continues.

President of the Economic Freedom Fighters, Julius Malema, shared a photo of himself and his gorgeous wife, Mantwa Matlala, on their way to the races. Matlala chose a sequined blue gown to match the ‘surf the wave’ motif, while her spouse wore a tuxedo with a bow.

Social media detectives couldn’t help but notice the outspoken politician’s choice of shoes, which at first glance appear to be ordinary shoes, but this is far from the case.

Malema wore a pair of Christian Louboutin-Corteo on Spikes Oxfords, which cost R27,975.62 on the official Louboutin website.Malema has a reputation for appearing dapper at A-List events, but his costly footwear has been a source of controversy.

Some social media users have criticized the politician for wearing such a costly sneaker, especially since he purports to represent the poor.

@my1centsworth said on X (formerly Twitter): “Enjoying the spoils of looting spree, in his R28 000 shoes ? @EFFSouthAfrica will no doubt protect their leaders spending habits, he like all other politicians didn’t get into politics to be poor.”

@rayleon123 said: “Yeah, thanks, but no thanks!! With all that bling they are wearing, purchased with money extorted from his starving, unemployed, and sick supporters! It’s outrageous!”

@brackytiyo3 on the other hand defended Malema’s expensive shoe choice, reminding internet users that he is not at work but attending the HollywoodBets Durban July.

“People need to be reasonable, this man was not at work, he attended Durban July with his wife. He couldn’t dress up in overalls like he was at work and he is saving a lot during the year whilst wearing them that is the reason he can afford most of the so called expensive clothes.”
