Bekker’s stake in Naspers has increased by R699.48 million ($36.75 million) to R6.1 billion ($320.63 million) in the last eight days, owing to a recent rally in the conglomerate’s shares on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), as tracked by Billionaire.Africa.
This new boost builds on Bekker’s earlier gains.Between March 5 and March 31, his investment in Naspers increased by $36.7 million, from R4.97 billion ($263.55 million) to R5.66 billion ($300.31 million).
Naspers, a South African Internet and media company, has seen its share price rise 12.94 percent in the last eight days. This increase has pushed the company’s market valuation past $34 billion, rewarding stockholders such as Koos Bekker.
Naspers’ wide portfolio includes online shopping, publishing, and venture capital, with operations on five continents reaching over 2 billion clients. Its JSE shares rose from R3,201.46 ($168.12) on April 17 to R3,615.87 ($189.97) on April 25.
