Naledi Aphiwe Wins Afro Pop Gong at Basadi Music Awards 2024

Naledi Aphiwe Myongwane, a rising star in the music industry, received the SoftnFree Afro Pop Artist of the Year award at the 2024 Basadi in Music Awards.

The Grade 12 student from Khethokuhle Secondary School received recognition for her hit song “Ngiyabonga.”

The awards ceremony was place at the Johannesburg Theatre, where Naledi not only accepted her medal but also performed, demonstrating her extraordinary talent.

Aphiwe first gained popularity with a viral singing video that drew the attention of music enthusiasts worldwide. Her star rose even further when she performed on Chris Brown’s 11:11 album in 2023, which helped her achieve greater exposure in the music industry.

The Basadi in Music Awards honour the achievements of female performers, and Naledi was recognized this year for her work in Afro Pop.

Her song “Ngiyabonga” has really connected with listeners, which is why she received this important award.

Aphiwe’s victory was met with widespread celebration on social media.

Fans and supporters from all over shared their excitement and congratulated her on this well-deserved achievement.

The Department of Basic Education in KwaZulu-Natal also joined in the celebration. Their official Twitter account, @DBE_KZN, shared a message from MEC Sipho Hlomuka, congratulating Aphiwe on her success.
