‘Mommy Club’ Star Nozipho Ntshangase Opens Up About Her 17-Year Marriage Breakdown

Nozipho Ntshangase, a cast member on The Mommy Club season two, broke her silence months after her marital difficulties became viral.

In March 2024, Nozipho Ntshangase’s marital issues were widely reported on social media.

The reality TV actress has decided to open up about how her 17-year marriage fell apart due to her husband’s decision to take on a second wife.

In a podcast conversation with Mo and Phindi, Ntshangase revealed the outcome, as reported by Fakazanews. Nozipho also discussed her plans to pursue medicine after years of being at home as a mother and wife.

She said:

“We devised a plan to make the medicine a success. My unwavering support fueled his career. I was the backbone of his business, juggling childcare with the relentless pursuit of tender submissions.

“Watching our relationship crumble, I realise it’s impossible to invest wholeheartedly in something that clearly isn’t part of my future plans.”

Ntshangase went on to say that she assumed all of this was a phase that her spouse was going through, and that it would soon pass, only to discover that it was the beginning of her nightmare.

She said:

“The struggle has been immense. I’ve found myself wide awake in the dead of night, desperately calling a friend, asking in disbelief, Thandi, how did we end up here?”

Thobani Buthelezi, a polygamist living in Msinga, KwaZulu-Natal, emphasized that polygamy needed the first wife’s blessing. He stated that if the wife understands the motivation behind the decision to follow another path, it is typically not a tough process.

Buthelezi also said:

“If I treat my wife well and lacks nothing, then she should not be against me taking another, especially if she understands that the way I treat her will not change. Women want to feel protected and provided for; once you have that covered, you have won half of the battle.”
