Justin Timberlake Agrees Plea Deal Following June Arrest

Justin Timberlake has agreed to a plea deal for driving while intoxicated. The 43-year-old pop artist was arrested in Sag Harbor, New York, in June for reportedly driving while intoxicated.

His lawyer and prosecutors are said to have negotiated an arrangement that will result in the initial allegation being withdrawn and the “Mirrors” hitmaker accepting punishment for Driving While Ability Impaired.

Sources informed TMZ. Justin will be required to pay a $300 to $500 fine for the offense, which is not classified as drunk driving, and the precise amount will be determined by a judge at a hearing on Friday, when the plea agreement is officially presented to the court.

The “Social Network” actor’s driver’s license will be suspended in New York for a year due to refusing a Breathalyzer test during a traffic stop.

During an earlier hearing, Justin’s attorney, Edward Burke Jr., rejected the charge and requested that the case be dropped entirely, claiming that the arresting officer made errors.

Prior to his detention, the singer had a supper with pals in The Hamptons.

A source earlier told DailyMail.com: “Justin was out to dinner with friends, and cop cars were stationed outside the restaurant, as they are most evenings.

“They check for those who are leaving after midnight and may have been drinking.

“Justin left at 12:30 a.m. and was immediately pulled over. Nobody was wounded, and there was no drama on the scene.”

After being arrested for driving while inebriated, the “SexyBack” actor claimed to have had “one martini”.

According to records obtained by PEOPLE, Timberlake told officials, “I had one martini and followed my friends home.”

However, according to the police report, the pop diva drove through a stop sign and failed to “keep on the right side of the roadway”.
