Here’s How Much South Africa’s Osman Arbee Received as Salary in 2023

Motus Holdings’ group CEO, Osman Arbee, got a total compensation package of R76.00 million ($4.02 million) in 2023 from the leading provider of automotive mobility solutions, vehicle products, and services.

The remuneration package marks a significant 57.93 percent increase over the previous year’s salary of $2.55 million, indicating Arbee’s contributions to the financial performance of the South African-based automotive mobility solutions company in 2023.

His 2023 remuneration package includes a base salary of R12.3 million ($0.65 million) and a performance-based short-term incentive of R15.96 million ($0.84 million), reflecting his vital role in driving the group to outstanding financial milestones this year.

In October 2017, Osman Arbee became CEO of Motus, bringing extensive experience from his previous roles at Imperial. He was CEO and CFO at Imperial, CEO of the Car Rental and Tourism division, and chairman of the Aftermarket Parts and Automotive Retail divisions.

Arbee was recognized as a high-performing business executive, and he received further praise for his focused leadership and experience at Motus Holdings. This was reflected in his long-term incentive of R47.75 million ($2.53 million), which he got in 2023.

Under Arbee’s leadership, Motus has established itself as a global automotive solutions provider, with strong presence in major countries like as South Africa, the United Kingdom, Australia, South East Asia, and Southern and East Africa.

Motus’ 2023 fiscal year revenue increased by 15.59 percent to R106.32 billion ($5.63 billion), up from R91.98 billion ($4.87 million) in 2022. The company’s assets increased significantly, growing 57 percent to R62.55 billion ($3.31 billion) in 2023 from R39.82 billion ($2.11 billion) in 2022.

In addition to his executive and governance duties, Arbee owns a 0.07% minority stake in Motus Holdings Limited, which equates to 132,645 shares. At current market values, this equates to an R13.66 million ($0.72 million) investment, which aligns his personal interests with the company’s success.
