Two days after a shooting left two dead and two injured, AuthentiQ Bar & Restaurant published a statement.
The incident happened shortly after 1 a.m. on Tuesday, September 17.
Garrith Jamieson, Director of ALS Paramedics, stated that when paramedics arrived, Metro Police were present, along with other security personnel. Paramedics were directed to where four victims were lying. Three males and a lady have been shot.
Jamieson stated that two additional individuals received gunshot wounds to the upper body and were brought to a local hospital for further treatment.
He stated that the events leading up to the shooting are unknown at this time, but it is suspected that it was a domestic disagreement, and the South African Police Service will conduct a further investigation.
KZN police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda said that police in Berea are investigating cases of murder and attempted murder following an incident in which a man shot and killed his girlfriend in a restaurant on Florida Road.
“It is alleged the woman went out to meet him only for him to draw his service pistol and fire shots at her.
“The victim ran back inside the restaurant and the man followed her as he continued shooting. She was declared dead at the scene.”
“Metro Police officers who were patrolling the area witnessed the incident and reacted and the suspect was also shot and taken to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.”

On social media, people are questioning the safety of the Florida Road strip as the incident follows that of rapper AKA and chef Tibz, who were gunned down just next door at Wish, which has since been rebranded to Maison Florida Road.
