The Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships support candidates to study Master’s degree courses that are either offered in partnership with universities in developing countries, or delivered directly by UK institutions.

Brief description: 

Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships are for candidates from least developed and lower middle income Commonwealth countries, for part-time Master’s study by distance learning on selected courses offered by UK universities.

A Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship covers tuition fees and study grants where required.

Eligibility:

To apply for the scholarship, you must:

• Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person

• Be permanently resident in a developing Commonwealth country

• Hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) standard. A lower qualification and sufficient relevant experience may be considered in certain cases

• Be unable to afford to study the programme without this scholarship

• Hold an offer to start their chosen course of study in the 2021-2022 academic year.

You must apply to study an eligible Master’s course at a UK university that is participating in the Distance Learning scheme. You must also secure admission to your course in addition to applying for a Distance Learning Scholarship. You must check with your chosen university for their specific advice on when to apply, admission requirements, and rules for applying.

To apply for the Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship, you must make your application using the CSC’s Electronic Application System (EAS), in addition to any other application that you are required to complete by your chosen university. All applications must be submitted by 17:00 PM (BST) on 26 April 2021 at the latest. Supporting documents must be submitted before 10 May 2021.

Edinburgh Global Distance Learning Scholarships 
The University of Edinburgh will offer scholarships for distance learning Master’s programmes offered by the University. Scholarships will be available for students pursuing any distance learning Master’s programme offered by the University. Each scholarship will cover the full tuition fees over three years.

The University of Edinburgh will offer twelve scholarships for eligible part-time distance learning Master’s programmes offered by the University.

Each scholarship will cover full tuition fees and will be tenable for the normal duration of the programme of study.

Eligibility:

Scholarships will be available for students commencing any part-time distance learning Masters programme offered by the University in session 2021-2022. Applicants must be nationals of the eligible countries (see above).

Applicants should already have been offered a place at the University of Edinburgh and should have firmly accepted that offer or be intending to do so.

University of the People Tuition Free Degrees
University of the People (UoPeople) offers everyone with internet access the opportunity to pursue Associate and Bachelor Degree Programs in Business Administration and Computer Science online. Tuition fee is free but students are required to pay an application Processing Fee (up to $50) as well as an Exam Processing Fee ($100) per end-of-course-exam. Scholarships are available to cover these fees.

Brief description:

Students are asked to pay only an assessment fee at the end of each course ($120 for undergraduate and $240 for graduate studies). Applicants are also asked for a one-time, non-refundable application fee of $60.
