White women possess 27% of management jobs in the United States, while women of color hold only 14%, according to the McKinsey Women in the Workplace study 2022. In C-Suite posts, the findings are far more startling. White women have 21% of these high-level posts in the United States, while women of color hold 5%.

That is why many business schools are working to improve women’s representation in the workplace by offering master’s degree grants to help women gain jobs in management and create successful careers.

Here is a list of some of the greatest business master’s degree scholarships for women available worldwide.

1. Imperial College Business School Women in Finance scholarship

Amount: $20,000

Imperial College Business School in London offers significant scholarships for women in business across its master’s programs as part of its commitment to reducing the gender gap in business.

The Women in Finance scholarship provides $20,000 to female candidates with a strong first-class honours degree or equivalent, impressive leadership skills, and potential for a career in finance.

The scholarship is available for the Master of Finance, Master of Financial Technology, Master of Finance and Accounting, Master of Investment and Wealth Management, and Master of Risk Management and Financial Engineering programs at Imperial.

The British Council Women in Science scholarship program is also affiliated with Imperial College Business School.

2. Bocconi University Women Awards

Amount: full payment of tuition fees for first year

Bocconi University in Italy is also working to develop female leaders in the traditionally male-dominated area of banking and economics.

The Women Awards cover the full cost of tuition for the first year of study at Bocconi’s Master in Finance program. Students who get the scholarship can continue in the program for the second year if they achieve the merit requirements.

3. Vlerick Business School

Amount: up to 70% of tuition fees

Vlerick Business School provides numerous scholarship opportunities for women in business entering a variety of fields across its master’s programs. Vlerick’s scholarships cover up to 70% of tuition fees if students perform well in the entrance test.

The Women in Science scholarship is open to students enrolled in the Master of International Management and Strategy and the Master of Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence programs. The Women in Finance scholarship is available on the Master in Financial Management program for women interested in a career in finance.

4. ESMT Berlin Women’s Scholarship

Amount: $10,700 / $34,200

There are a variety of scholarship opportunities available for women applying to master’s programs at ESMT Berlin.

The Women’s Academic Excellence Scholarship awards four scholarships of up to $10,700 (€10,000) to women who have excelled academically during their bachelor’s degree. Applicants from underrepresented developing nations are especially encouraged to apply.

ESMT Berlin has also teamed with Capiton to offer the Women in Private Equity scholarship, with the goal of addressing the industry’s gender imbalance. Alongside the $34,200 (€32,000) scholarship, the one awarded candidate will also take part in a three to six month internship with capiton, giving them the chance to earn valuable experience in private equity.

Master’s programs at ESMT Berlin include: Master in Global Management, Master in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and Master in Analytics and Artificial Intelligence.
