U.S.: Molly Prakash Awarded 2023 Kay Campbell Nursing Scholarship

Grace Health has awarded the 2023 Kay Campbell Nursing Scholarship to Molly Prakash of Williamsburg.

Prakash, the daughter of Stacey and the late Gopal Prakash, was awarded a $3,000 grant for her nursing career studies, which she will begin in August after graduating from Whitley County High School earlier this year.

Each of Grace Health’s six service areas in Southeastern Kentucky receives the Kay Campbell Nursing Scholarship. The scholarships are given to graduating seniors who want to work in nursing or a medical field.

The students are chosen on the basis of their exceptional scholarship, community service and leadership, and potential future contributions, preferably to the nursing profession.

During high school, Prakash was an honor student who was involved in HOSA, Beta Club, DECA, and her church. She also took part in numerous civic and community events.

She selected nursing as a profession because she wanted to deliver exceptional healthcare to the entire individual – physically, emotionally, and intellectually. Prakash will begin his studies at the University of the Cumberlands this fall. She desires to work as a neonatal or labor and delivery nurse.

Grace Health, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), was founded in Knox County in 2008 as a primary healthcare provider.

Grace Health operates 12 clinic facilities and 34 school-based clinics and serves the counties of Bell, Clay, Knox, Laurel, Leslie, and Whitley. Pediatrics, women’s care, behavioral health, school-based health, nursing home care, pharmacy, and dental services are all available at primary healthcare clinics.
