Watch Gorilla Stop Traffic To Allow His Family Safely Cross Road (Video)

A silverback gorilla was filmed stopping traffic so his family could safely cross the road.

The gorilla known as Chimanuka in the Democratic Republic of Congo was known to the BBC Earth crew who had been observing him for a while, so when BBC cameraman Gordon Buchanan spotted Chimanuka in the bushes by the side of a road in the Democratic Republic of Congo he knew Chimanuka had a good reason for showing himself.

The gorilla looked nervous and tense as it wondered how to get his entire family across the road. The massive male silverback then left the bushes and lumbered into the road. At this point, his motive became clear, so the BBC Earth crew helped him stop traffic so he could cross.

Watch him cross with his entire family in the video below.
