Terrorist Group, ISIS has just claimed full responsibility for the deadly terrorist attack that took place in London yesterday.
The Independent UK reported that, The terrorist group released statements in several languages through its central media body praising the atrocity, claiming more than 100 “crusaders” were killed or wounded at the “shameless” concert.
The English version of the statement says:
“With Allah’s grace and support, a soldier of the Khilafah [caliphate] managed to place explosive devices in the midst of the gatherings of the crusaders in the British city of Manchester,”
Isis said the attack aimed to terrorize “infidels…in response to their transgressions against the lands of the Muslims”.
According to Guardian UK, witnesses narrated how the tragedy happened: Ariana Grande concluded her performance and just as the house lights came on in the 21,000-capacity hall, a loud bang was heard, causing panic and then a stampede as young people fled for their lives.
“A huge bomb-like bang went off that hugely panicked everyone and we were all trying to flee the arena,” said one of the concertgoers Majid Khan. “It was one bang and essentially everyone from the other side of the arena where the bang was heard from suddenly came running towards us as they were trying to exit.”
Another concertgoer, 17-year-old Oliver Jones, who went with his 19-year-old sister said: “The bang echoed around the foyer of the arena and people started to run.”
Another, Hannah Dane, said it was “quite a loud explosion heard from inside the Manchester arena and it shook, then everyone screamed and tried to get out”.
From the video shared on social media, people are seen screaming and trying to flee at the same time, and Guardian UK adds that this may have added to the high number of injured people.
Shortly after the incident, the police and ambulances arrived the scene. The police is currently treating the case as a “possible terror” incident.
No suspect had been named as at press time, and relatives took to Twitter to post photos of their loved one who were yet to be accounted for.
