SuperSport United have moved rapidly to support their striking division for the new season, swooping to bring in a forward from Bidvest Wits.
The Siya team announced beforehand that Matsatsantsa were hoping to get James Keene from the Clever Boys when his agreement terminated toward the finish of the season, and it gives the idea that they have gotten their man.
According to Siya sources, the 32-year-old has penned a pre-contract with SuperSport that will kick in on July 1st, with the former Portsmouth man looking to get amongst the goals in Tshwane after finishing as Wits’ top scorer in all competitions in 2017/18.
Keene got 17 goals in 30 starts during his spell in Braamfontein, playing his part in helping the club lift the MTN8, Telkom Knockout and first-ever league title, and he will now be hoping to help SuperSport get back to winning ways after they secured their Absa Premiership status.
It is thought that the striker has agreed to a one-year deal with SuperSport with a one-year option should things go well in his first campaign at the club.
