From 9 to 11 August Robertson will be hosting its annual Slow Food and Wine Festival in the Robertson Wine Valley in the Western Cape and other wineries and tourism establishments in the area.
Slow Food and Wine Festival: What to expect
“Celebrate the unique food and wine offerings and rediscover the romance and magic of wintertime,” it states on their official website. “Warm-up in front of the fireplace with red wines and indulge your taste buds with hearty country cuisine using local produce. Indulge in diverse food traditions from vetkoek, curries and waterblommetjie soup to seafood paella, Chinese duck and ostrich and kudu inspired dishes. From fine dining and gourmet offerings to farm-style platters and picnics.”
Those who want to attend can explore wine farms with underground cellar tours, game drives, horse rides, and boat cruises.
There will also be an array of local produce and award-winning wines by joining cooking classes and intimate winemaker’s dinners.
“This year’s festival also offers a wide variety of tasting opportunities from a single vineyard and vertical tastings, to brandy pairings, tutored Méthode Cap Classique master classes and food and wine pairings.”
This festival offers wine-lovers the perfect opportunity to interact with winemakers and wine farmers in an informal setting and see the intricate details of wine making.
While some of the events are fully booked, there are still enough, fun activities for you and your family.
