The 12th annual South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTA) saw the who’s who of the entertainment industry showing off their impeccable style
The theme for this year’s event was ‘Our Stories Are Gold’, and celebrities like Lerato Kganyago showed up in head-to-toe gold.
But it was Skolopad who shocked everyone on the red carpet.
She attended in a princess-like gown, earning her a place on many people’s best-dressed list.
The entertainer turned heads on the red carpet but for an entirely different reason than we are used to. The dancer turnedup at the event fully-clothed!
Yes, you read that right, Skolopad, who famously showed up in a transparent meat dress at a previous awards show, ditched her usual risqué look for an elegant gown.
TV and radio personality Lerato Kganyago took home an award for ‘Best TV Presenter’ at the awards.
She was also a winner on the red carpet.
You couldn’t miss Nomzamo Mbatha on the red carpet in this puffy-sleeved outfit by designer David Tlale.
Nomzamo’s hit show, Isibaya took home a golden horn for ‘Best TV Soap’.
Trending SA presenter Pabi Moloi ditched the evening gown look for a power suit. She won ‘Best Talk Show Host’ at the event.
“My magnificent power suit is designed by @otiz_seflo. In just one conversation, he captured my heart’s vision and made is even better! Your talent and gentle spirit humble me. Professional pics still to come but I had to share this in the meantime,” she wrote on Instagram.
Actress Linda Mtoba looked sexy in a plunging neckline and thigh-high slit. Her ‘pure gold’ look was designed by McCarthy Wolff.
Thando’s stunning red-carpet look was courtesy of Gert-Johan Coetzee.
She also wore a stunning blue mermaid gown, for her on-stage hosting duties.
Rapper Rogue was a vision in red on the red carpet. Her team also took home an award for ‘Best Micro Budget Film’.
“Made a movie based on my album. And now it’s award winning. This award is for women, hiphop and anyone who is doing this independently. Thank you to @instinctifpartners for being the best team and helping me bring this dream to life,” she said on Instagram.
