Corriene Tasner, 62-year-old, had numerous stab wounds to her body and her throat had been slit, said Mpumalanga police spokesperson Brigadier Leonard Hlathi. We are following leads after the lifeless body of Corriene Tasner was found in her flat.
Tasner was living in a flat at the back of her son’s house in Hodgson Street.
The police suspect that she might have been murdered much earlier. The last time her family saw her alive was on Friday evening.
On Saturday morning, her family noticed that her car was not where it was usually, but were under the impression that she was not home.
At around 17:00, her daughter Cathrynne Pelser went to the flat and discovered the gruesome scene.
According to Hlathi, Tasner’s body was lying next to her bed. Her body was covered with linen from the bed.
The motive behind the killing is still unknown. A case of murder, rape and theft have been opened.
The police are looking for a silver Chevrolet Spark with the registration DMY203MP.
