Nhlanhla Nene concluded his testimony before the Zondo Commission yesterday.
Nene elaborated on his meeting with the Guptas.
He also said he had not been fully transparent in some of his previous statements.
The former finance minister told the Commission that he had met with members of the Gupta family eight times. Six of these were while he was deputy minister and two were while he was finance minister.
Nene resigned after it came out that he had previously lied about his meetings with the Guptas. He told the Commission that he lied because he was taken by surprise by questions in an interview with eNCA.
However, Nene reiterated that he had never received money or gifts from the Guptas.
Nene also made some revelations about the EFF. According to IOL, he said that Floyd Shivambu tried to pressure him against placing VBS bank under curatorship following its financial problems.
Nene added that the EFF launched a political campaign against him following his decision to liquidate VBS.
Following Nene’s testimony, Mcebisi Jonas is set to appear before the Commission next.
