Steven Anderson, the homophobic pastor headed for SA next week — despite a petition of close to 60 000 signatures trying to prevent him from entering the country — claims it’s freedom of speech to advocate for the killing of gay people and that he will never stop doing it.

This, despite the Human Rights Charter clearly stating otherwise and South African law very clearly prohibiting any message which incites violence or discrimination based on race, gender or sexual orientation.

The South African government has granted Anderson a visa, but added that, should he break any of our laws, swift action will be taken against him.
