Motsepe: Sundowns’ victory is dedicated to SA

Mamelodi Sundowns

Winning the champions League has always been close to the heart of Mamelodi Sundowns’ president, Patrice Motsepe.

This as the Pretoria based outfit made history when they were crowned champions of the 2016 CAF Champions League in Egypt Sunday night.

Motsepe says the victory is dedicated to the country.

Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane says their formula of winning their home matches paid dividends.

Sundowns has become the second South African team to be crowned continental champions in 21 years.

Orlando Pirates were first in Southern Africa to be crowned champions back in 1995.

The Brazilians lifted the trophy despite a one-nil loss to five time African champions Zamalek in Alexandria.
