Bidvest Wits legend, Moeneeb Josephs, looks set to remain with the Clever Boys for no less than one more season, with the goalkeeper having concurred another deal at the club.
The Siya crew reported earlier this year that fellow Absa Premiership outfit, Cape Town City, were keen to try and land the 37-year-old to bolster their goalkeeping department, although their attempts were futile as the veteran remained in Braamfontein.
It had been thought that contract negotiations between Josephs and the Clever Boys have been ongoing, and it has now been confirmed that terms have been agreed in principle, with the player set to commit to the club once again.
John Wilson, who looks after the former Orlando Pirates shot-stopper, explained, “We’ve been in talks with Wits, and now we have agreed terms in principle and only have some last details to finalise before Moeneeb puts pen to paper.”
Josephs is currently in his second spell with Wits having spent time there between 2006 and 2008, and has played a big role for the club since re-joining in 2013, helping them to the Absa Premiership title, as well as Telkom Knockout and MTN8 trophies.
The goalkeeper has been playing professional football for over two decades now, and doesn’t seem to be showing any intention of hanging up his gloves just yet.
