Maskandi Star, Khuzani Makes History by Filling Up Moses Mabhida

Maskandi superstar, Khuzani, made history over the weekend when he became the first ever artist of his genre to perform a sold-out one-man show at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium.

The singer had been pushing the Gcwalisa iMabhida campaign for a few weeks now and it all came to fruition on Saturday evening, when Moses Mabhida was filled to capacity.

Khuzani became the second artist in the space of three months to fill up the stadium after rapper, Cassper Nyovest, hosted a successful #FillUp concert in December. Howsouthafrica learnt that the Gusheshe hit-maker took to social media to congratulate his fellow entertainer on his historical show.

Social media users were full of respect for Khuzani after what he achieved. Maskandi is a genre often forgotten as Mzansi focuses more on the hip-hop and Gqom artists, but Gcwalisa iMabhida was testament to just how important Maskandi is.

The success of the show has opened up many possibilities for artists in the genre and other genres which are often overlooked.
