Man Utd Foward Marcus Rashford To Get Honorary Doctorate From University Of Manchester

Manchester United's Marcus Rashford appears dejected after the final whistle during the Premier League match at Old Trafford, Manchester.

Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford will receive an honorary doctorate from the University of Manchester for his campaign against child poverty.

The 22-year-old becomes the youngest ever recipient of the honour from The University of Manchester, which has previously given such awards to Sir Alex Ferguson and Sir Bobby Charlton. Rashford has been recognised for his work with the charity FareShare, helping raise £20million which has funded four million meals for vulnerable children during lockdown.

The United forward also forced a government U-turn over free school meals and his manager was glowing with pride when he discussed the news on Wednesday.
