Below is a preview of the feature. As explained by TechCrunch;
“Users who are participating in the test can see who took a screenshot of their story by going to the list of story viewers and seeing a new camera shutter logo next to anyone who took a screenshot of their photo. To be clear, creators won’t get a specific notification when someone takes a screenshot of their story, it will only show up in their list of story viewers.”
Thankfully, Instagram will give users one free pass – the first time they screenshot a Story they will receive a pop-up that lets them know that next time the user will be notified.
If you regularly screenshot Instagram Stories to share with your friends, then Instagram’s latest update may come as worrying news.
The social media site is now alerting people if you screenshot their Story.
Thankfully, it seems that Instagram will give users one free pass – the first time they screenshot a Story they will receive a pop-up that lets them know that next time the user will be notified.
The pop-up reads: “Next time you take a screenshot or screen recroding, the person who posted the story will be able to see.”
Instagram did not reveal much about this specific feature but revealed to TechCrunch that they’re “always testing ways to improve the experience on Instagram.”
